Urd bean (Udad/Urid dal)

are split urad beans and are an important basis for many Indian and Ayurvedic dishes in India. They have a high protein content and are therefore suitable for athletes, but especially for vegans and vegetarians. With their wonderfully nutty flavor, urd beans add the right touch to numerous South Indian dishes such as pongal, dosa, idli or vada, but they also go well with delicious curries, dals, salads or can simply be added to soup.
